Overview
On behalf of Sony Computer Entertainment (UK), Making Waves designed and produced ‘SingStar Bus Stops’ to promote their new title SingStar title ‘Popworld’ and to widen exposure to the PlayStation 2 brand campaign, ‘Freedom’
Activity
Making Waves created bespoke ‘Adshells’ at 6 busy bus stops across the UK (London, Bristol, Cardiff, Newcastle, Birmingham and Edinburgh)
Each ‘Adshell’ contained a PlayStation 2, loaded with SingStar ‘Popworld’ and a TV to allow ‘people on the street’ to sing their hearts out with help of our promotional staff
Results
The activity ran at each site between 9am and 5.30pm, 7 days a week and received a positive response from both consumers and trade (sales conversion monitored in the featured cities)
The activity was a first in the UK and turned an uninspiring set of bus stops into the best party in town
